New BullyBones Album Ahead
Garage rock hotshots BullyBones had an excellent 2013, making strong breakthroughs on the Island scene building a hardcore following realising they could well be the future of rock ‘n’ roll, as well as making some ripples up in London with repeated visits to a number of intelligent-minded venues. So it’s great to see they haven’t rested on their laurels and are smashing into 2014 with a new album almost ready to drop and a string of live dates to get us all excited.
They revealed in an interview to accompany their Red Squirrel session late last year for the Headfunk Show that they had over an album’s worth of material written and roughed out. They have spent the last part of January ensconced in Studio Humbug, venue for the recording of their debut album ‘Shoot You Down’, with the Homes brothers once again working their aural magic to provide just the right balance between the band’s heavy side and an authentic garage/analogue sound.
Early news from the sessions is good with the band sounding delighted with the results and you can get your digital paws on a slice of this work as a free download of new track ‘Leather’ via their Soundcloud. BullyBones Soundcloud
The band also have some upcoming dates, firstly this Friday at Club Stomp at Coburgs here on the Island and then they have joined the bill of a Joe Strummer tribute all-dayer at The Joiners in Southampton (sharing the bill with Kermit from Black Grape!). Their debut album is still available via their Bandcamp page BullyBones Bandcamp and keep a watch here for news of album two’s release date.
