ZUU x Johnny Voltik Team up for ‘The Drip’

Once in a while, you come across an artist and think – ‘I need to keep an eye on them. They’re going to absolutely smash it’.

I first remember reviewing ZUU Music as far back as 2015, with his ’Subculture’ EP. It was a breath of fresh air, and the production alias of Rob Dixon has only grown from strength-to-strength since then, opening for the likes of Kelis and Django Django. Johnny Voltik also brings his A-Game here. Tight, densely-packed lyrics, saturated in imagery and compound meanings.

Boombap influences interlaced with video-game synths. It’s like a nostalgic slap in the face brought to you via the same energy you’d expect from a ‘Run The Jewels’ joint. ‘The Drip’ is a promising start to the partnership, and we’re looking forward to whatever comes next.
